It’s personal.

Lord Thomas Wentworth established my old regiment in the seventeenth century. Over three centuries later, at Sandhurst, I was asked to study Field Marshal William Slim. I began knowing very little about him, but gradually discovered a remarkable man defined not by noise, but by quiet authority and uncommon distinction.

It is not the military dimension that stayed with me. It was the idea of persistence. Of earning trust over time.
Those ideas resonated.

Early battle honours from my regiment have inspired some of our collections. Not as decoration, but as provenance. A quiet nod to history.

Thomas Slim is not a military brand.
But it is shaped by a respect for things that endure. For objects that gain character through use. For design that earns its place.

After all, the most sustainable pen is the one you never want to replace.
